Privacy & cookies
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This page explains what personal data Pixel & Page collects through this website, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what choices you have, including how to control cookies. It applies to pixelandpage.net, including the shop and the enquiry form.
1. Who we are
The website is run by Glyn Scotford, trading as Pixel & Page, a web design studio and print shop based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller for the personal data described here.
To contact us about your data, email glynscotfordseo@gmail.com.
2. What information we collect
When you send an enquiry
If you use the contact form on the home page, we collect the name, email address, project type (if you select one) and message you enter. We do not ask for anything else. Our hosting provider also records basic technical data, such as your IP address, when the form is submitted.
When you buy from the shop
Payments are taken by Stripe, not by us. Stripe collects the details needed to take payment, such as your name, billing and delivery address, email address and card details. We receive only what we need to fulfil the order: your name, delivery address, email address and order details. We never see or store your full card number.
When you visit the site
Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes server logs that can include your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
3. How and why we use your information
| Purpose | What we use | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and discussing a project | Name, email, project type, message | Steps at your request before a contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Taking and fulfilling shop orders | Name, email, delivery address, order details | Performing a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Keeping accounts and meeting tax and legal duties | Order and invoice records | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Keeping the site secure and working | Server logs, IP address | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
We do not use your information for automated decisions or for marketing unless you have asked us to contact you.
4. Who we share your information with
We only share data with service providers who help us run the site and business. They act on our instructions and must protect your data:
- Netlify: hosts this website and the enquiry form. Form submissions are stored in our Netlify account.
- Stripe: processes shop payments. Stripe acts as its own controller for payment data and handles it under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/gb/privacy).
- Google Fonts: serves the typefaces used on this site. When a page loads, your browser requests the fonts from Google, which can log your IP address.
- Email and accounting providers we use to answer enquiries and keep records, where needed.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Some providers, such as Netlify, Stripe and Google, may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, they rely on approved safeguards, such as UK-approved contractual clauses or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
6. How long we keep your information
- Enquiries: for up to 2 years after our last contact, unless a project starts, in which case the period is extended for that project.
- Order and invoice records: for 6 years from the end of the financial year, as required for tax purposes.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period, under its own retention policy.
7. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Some cookies are strictly necessary for a site or service to work. Others track or personalise your experience.
Cookies this site sets
This site does not set any cookies of its own. It does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking, and it does not store anything in your browser's local storage to follow you around.
Cookies from third parties
| Provider | Where | Why | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Shop page (Buy button and checkout) | To take payments securely and prevent fraud | Strictly necessary for checkout |
| Netlify | Hosting and forms | To deliver and secure the site and forms | Strictly necessary |
| Google Fonts | All pages | Loads typefaces. Google Fonts does not set cookies for this purpose, but it does receive your IP address | Not a cookie, but a data request |
Because we only rely on strictly necessary cookies, we do not show a cookie banner. If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
8. Cookie settings and your choices
You can control cookies through your browser at any time. Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies, and block them for specific sites.
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies
- Safari (iPhone and iPad): Settings > Safari > Block All Cookies
- Safari (Mac): Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Blocking Stripe's cookies will stop the shop's checkout from working. The rest of the site will still load and the enquiry form will still work.
Your other choices are to:
- Ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct data that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data, unless we must keep it for legal reasons.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email glynscotfordseo@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Card payments are handled by Stripe. Enquiry data is stored in our Netlify account, which is protected by a password and two-step verification.
10. Children
This website is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
12. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we use your data, please contact us first so we can put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
